Surat, India – True to his word, diamond magnate Govind Dholakia, founder and chairman emeritus of Shree Ramkrishna Exports (SRK), is set to reward India’s Women’s Cricket World Cup-winning team with an extraordinary gesture — handcrafted diamond jewellery and rooftop solar panels for each player.
The announcement follows India’s historic 52-run victory over South Africa at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, which secured the country’s first-ever ICC Women’s ODI World Cup title on Sunday.

Diamond Promise Becomes Reality
Before the final, Dholakia had pledged to honour the women’s team should they lift the trophy — a promise he now fulfills in grandeur.
“To celebrate their extraordinary journey, we at Shree Ramkrishna Exports would be honoured to present each member of the champion Indian team with handcrafted natural diamond jewellery — a token of appreciation for their brilliance and resilience,”
— Govind Dholakia, in his letter to BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla.
Alongside luxury, Dholakia is adding a touch of sustainability. Each player will receive rooftop solar panels for their homes, symbolizing “the light they bring to our nation continuing to shine sustainably in their lives too.”
The Surat-based industrialist, who is also a Rajya Sabha member, has long been known for his philanthropic work, previously gifting cars and solar panels to employees of SRK.
A Historic Triumph for Indian Women’s Cricket
India’s women’s team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, ended years of heartbreak after previous near-misses in 2005 and 2017, clinching their maiden title in emphatic fashion.
- Shafali Verma was named Player of the Match for her blistering 87-run knock, setting the tone for victory.
 - Deepti Sharma, with match-winning figures of 5/39, earned Player of the Tournament honours for her all-round brilliance.

The triumph triggered celebrations across the nation, with President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi among the first to congratulate the team. The BCCI also announced a ₹51 crore cash prize, the largest-ever reward for an Indian women’s cricket team — marking a 239% increase from previous tournaments.
A Gift of Pride and Purpose
Dholakia’s decision to pair diamonds with solar power carries symbolic weight — a reflection of India’s rising global stature in both luxury craftsmanship and sustainable innovation.
“True success must uplift both people and the planet,” Dholakia stated, emphasizing his belief in giving back through meaningful gestures.
His announcement cements his reputation not just as a business leader, but as a visionary who champions empowerment, equality, and sustainability.
